Terms of Use
Last updated 10 August 2026
Recovru Terms of Use. Version 2026-08-10, effective 10 August 2026. Recovru is operated by Dapper Trading LTD (company number 08800299), Oak House, Reeds Crescent, Watford WD24 4QP. Contact us at support@recovru.com. When you book a recovery, your contract for that recovery is with the independent operator who accepts it, a separate business with its own insurance. Recovru arranges the booking and collects the payment as their agent. What changed in this version: we are now called Recovru instead of Recovr, and our website and email addresses have moved to recovru.com. That is the only change. Your rights, the prices and the company you contract with are all the same, and Dapper Trading LTD is the same company it was before. The model cancellation form is at the end of these terms.

1. Who we are, and who you are contracting with
Recovru is operated by Dapper Trading LTD (company number 08800299), Oak House, Reeds Crescent, Watford WD24 4QP. Contact us at support@recovru.com. THIS IS IMPORTANT AND WE SAY IT BEFORE YOU BOOK, NOT AFTER. When you book a recovery, your contract for that recovery is with the independent operator who accepts it, a separate business with its own insurance. Recovru arranges the booking and collects the payment as their agent. We tell you that operator's name, their photograph, their vehicle and their registration the moment they accept, and their full business details are available in the app and on request before you confirm. This matters because it decides who is responsible for what. The operator is responsible for the recovery itself. We are responsible for the platform, the price we quoted you, the money, and for handling it properly when something goes wrong. We do not hide behind the operator: see clause 13.
2. Who can use Recovru
You must be 18 or over. You must be booking for a vehicle you own or are authorised to have recovered. You must give accurate information. If you tell us the wrong vehicle or the wrong location, the operator may not be able to help and a cancellation fee may apply.
3. Before you book, we tell you all of this
Each item below is what you are told, followed by where you are told it. What the service is, and what it includes: on the booking screen. The total price, including everything: on the price screen, before you commit. How long it will take, or our best estimate: the arrival band on the price screen. Who we are and how to reach us: these terms and in-app support. Who your operator is: named the moment they accept, with photograph, vehicle and registration. Your right to cancel, and what it costs: clause 6, and summarised on the booking screen before you confirm. How to complain: clause 14.
4. Booking, and when the contract starts
You choose your service level and see the total. Before you can confirm, you tick a box confirming that you are asking us to send an operator immediately and that you accept the price and the cancellation terms. Nothing is charged at that point. Your contract starts when an operator accepts your request. We tell you immediately, and we send you a written confirmation by email before your operator sets off, which you can keep. You can correct any mistake before you confirm by going back at any point in the booking. Nothing is committed until you press the final button, which shows the price you will pay.
5. The price
THE PRICE YOU SEE IS THE PRICE YOU PAY. It includes the call-out, any parts we have priced for you, and VAT. It will not go up. There is no card fee, no booking fee and no charge for paying in any particular way. If your operator arrives and finds work we have not priced, a repair beyond what you described, they will tell you and you decide what to do. Nothing extra is ever charged without you agreeing to it first in the app, and you are free to decline. We take nothing when you book. When an operator accepts, we place a hold on your card, which is not a charge. We take the payment only when you confirm the work is done by giving your operator the completion code.
6. Your right to cancel
YOU HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO CANCEL, AND HERE IS EXACTLY HOW IT WORKS. Because you book through an app rather than face to face, the law gives you 14 days to change your mind about most contracts. Recovery is usually urgent, so most people want the service to start immediately, and asking for that changes what the right means. We explain both situations below rather than burying it.
6. Your right to cancel: if you ask us to send someone immediately
When you tick the box asking for immediate dispatch, you are asking us to begin the service during the 14-day period. You still have the right to cancel within those 14 days, but if you do, you must pay a reasonable amount for the part of the service already supplied, in proportion to the whole. That is what the cancellation fee in our Cancellation & Refunds Policy is: it is calculated from what was actually done, it is shown to you in full before you confirm the cancellation, and it can never exceed the figure you were shown. Once the recovery has been fully performed, and you asked for it to begin immediately, the right to cancel ends: you cannot undo a completed recovery.
6. Your right to cancel: if you booked for a later time
If you scheduled a recovery rather than asking for one now, you have the full 14 days to cancel without giving any reason and without paying anything, unless the service has already started with your agreement.
6. Your right to cancel: how to cancel
There are four ways, and each one is given below as the way, followed by how it works. In the app: open the job and choose Cancel. Fastest, and it shows you the figure first. By email: support@recovru.com with your job reference. By post: Dapper Trading LTD, Oak House, Reeds Crescent, Watford WD24 4QP. Using the form: the model cancellation form at the end of these terms. You do not have to use it. Cancelling in time means sending your cancellation before the 14 days end. Any refund is made to the card you paid with, without undue delay and within 14 days at the latest.
6. Your right to cancel: the free window on top of your legal rights
Separately from the law, we give you two minutes after an operator accepts to cancel at no charge at all. That is ours, not a legal requirement, and we do it because people change their minds in the first moments.
7. Recovru Pro and Recovru Platinum
You can use Recovru without paying anything monthly. If you want to, you can also subscribe to a plan. Pro is £9.99 a month and takes 10 per cent off every call-out. Platinum is £19.99 a month and takes 20 per cent off. Both prices include VAT. Pro covers up to three vehicles and Platinum covers as many as you like, and both put you higher up the queue when a job is being offered to operators. The detail of a plan is this. What you are buying: a monthly membership that discounts your call-outs. It is not insurance and it is not breakdown cover. It does not pay for your recovery, it reduces the price you pay for one. When you are charged: monthly in advance, to the card you have on file, starting on the day you subscribe. If you use no call-outs: you still pay the monthly price. The discount only has value if you use it, so if you are not breaking down, the free plan is the better choice and we would rather tell you that here. Cancelling: any time, in the app, under your account. No exit fee and no notice period. If we change the price: we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not want the new price, cancel before then and you will never be charged it.
7. Recovru Pro and Recovru Platinum: you have 14 days to change your mind about a plan, and that is separate from your call-outs
Because you buy a plan online, you have 14 days from the day you subscribe to cancel it for any reason at all, or none. Tell us in the app, by email or by post and we will refund you within 14 days of being told. If you have already used the plan during those 14 days, by taking a discounted call-out, we may keep an amount in proportion to what you have had. If you have not used it, you get all of it back. This is a different thing from your right to cancel a call-out, which is clause 6, and using one does not affect the other. After the first 14 days you can still cancel whenever you like. Cancelling then stops the next payment and you keep your discount until the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not refund part of a month once that month has begun and you are outside the 14 days.
8. If your operator cancels
YOU PAY NOTHING. EVER. Whatever the reason and whatever stage it happens at. We return your request to the network immediately, keep your price, and tell you we are finding someone else.
9. If nobody accepts
We search up to 25 miles around you. If nobody can take the job, we tell you plainly, we release any hold in full, and you are not charged anything.
10. If you are not there
If your operator arrives and cannot find you, cannot reach you by message or call, and you do not appear within 15 minutes, the job may be closed as a no-show and treated as a cancellation at that stage. SAFETY COMES FIRST. If you left your vehicle because you were on a motorway or somewhere unsafe, or because the emergency services moved you, that is not a no-show. Tell us and we will not charge you.
11. If the work is not right
Your operator must carry out the recovery with reasonable care and skill. If they do not, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: to have it put right, or to a reduction in price. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHASE THE OPERATOR YOURSELF. Tell us, and we will administer it from the money we hold or collect: arranging for the work to be redone, reducing the price, or refunding you. That is what holding the payment is for.
12. If your vehicle is damaged
From the moment your vehicle is loaded until it is released, it is in your operator's care and their insurance covers it. Every operator on Recovru must hold that cover before they can work, and they must photograph your vehicle before and after. If your vehicle is damaged, tell us and your operator straight away. The claim is against their insurance, but we will give you their details, the photographs, and the job record, and we will help you pursue it.
13. What we are responsible for
We are responsible for operating the platform with reasonable care, for the price we quote you, for taking payment correctly, for verifying operators before they can work, and for dealing fairly with you when something goes wrong. WHAT WE DO NOT AND CANNOT LIMIT. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Any term that tried to would not be binding on you, and we are not going to write one. Otherwise, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of us breaking this agreement. We are not responsible for the recovery work itself, which is your operator's contract with you, nor for losses neither of us could have foreseen.
14. Your account and your data
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account. How we handle information about you is in our Privacy Policy, and what is stored on your device is in our Cookies policy.
15. Complaints, and what happens if we cannot agree
Each stage below gives what happens, and when. Tell us: in-app support, or support@recovru.com. Give your job reference. Any time. We acknowledge: we confirm we have it. Within 2 working days. We investigate and decide: a person reviews the job records and gives you our decision with reasons. Within 15 working days. If you are still unhappy: we will write to you on a durable medium setting out our final position. See below on alternative dispute resolution. On request. We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme. There is no approved scheme in the United Kingdom that covers roadside recovery specifically, and joining one is voluntary for our sector. We are telling you this plainly because we are required to, and because we would rather you knew where you stand than discovered it in the middle of a disagreement. WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU: your rights are unaffected. You can take the matter to court, you can raise it with your card issuer, and you can report us to Trading Standards through the Citizens Advice consumer service. We will not treat you any differently for doing any of those things.
16. General
We may change these terms. If a change affects a booking you have already made, the version you agreed to at the time applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
