Delete your Recovru account.

You can delete your Recovru account in the app at any time, or ask us on this page if you no longer have the app. Recovru is run by Dapper Trading Ltd. Your account and most of what goes with it are deleted. Some records are kept for a stated time and reason, set out below and in our privacy notices, and you can ask us what was kept and why.

Delete it in the app.

  1. If you use Recovru to get help, open Account and choose Delete account

  2. If you work through Recovru as an operator, open Account, then Business details, and choose Delete your account at the end

  3. Choose to delete it now, or to hold it closed for six months first in case of a dispute

  4. If you get help through Recovru and a job is in progress, you can still ask to delete now, and we delete the account as soon as the job has finished

    The six-month hold can be chosen only after it has finished. An operator with a job in progress can do neither until the job has finished.

  5. Confirm

    The app tells you when it is done.

You do not need to install the app again. Give us the email address on your account and we will email it to check the request is yours before we delete anything. We finish within one month.

For example, a phone number you used, or that you would rather we held the account closed for six months first.

What is deleted, and what we keep.

  • Deleted

    Your sign-in, your profile, your saved vehicles and places, your settings and devices, your documents and reports, your ratings and your messages to operators. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to end Recovru's access to your Apple ID.

  • Kept with your name taken off

    Each job as a record of a transaction, with the date, the service, the price and what was paid, because tax and accounting law require it.

  • Not yet deleted

    The photo files themselves, of the problem, the finished work, in messages and on your profile. The links to them go when your account is deleted, but the files stay in storage until our process for removing them is in place, and a photo can show a face, a number plate or a home. If you want them deleted now, say so in the note above or email privacy@recovru.com, and we will delete them by hand.

  • Kept for a stated time

    Invoices and receipts for 6 years, and anything needed for an open dispute, complaint or investigation until it is resolved. An operator's right to work evidence is kept for 2 years after they stop working through Recovru, as the law requires.

Plans and memberships.

A plan or membership we bill by card, or that Google Play bills, is cancelled when your account is deleted. A plan Apple bills is not: cancel it in your App Store account settings, under Subscriptions, or Apple will keep charging you.

Do I need the app to delete my Recovru account?

No. You can delete it in the app, or ask on this page with the email address on your account. We email that address to check the request is yours before we delete anything, and we finish within one month.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

A plan billed by card through Recovru, or by Google Play, is cancelled when the account is deleted. A plan billed by Apple is not: cancel it in your App Store account settings.
