Founding operators: 3 months' free membership and a 15% fee, VAT included, for life.
Founding places go to the first 250 operators we choose from those we have accepted. A founding operator pays no membership for 3 calendar months, and from their first job their fee is locked at 15% of the quote, VAT included, for life: it never goes up, and if our standard fee is ever lower they pay that.
Who qualifies
- Places are only for the first 250 operators we accept, counted in the order we first accepted them. Accepted means you have passed our checks, we have cleared you for at least one service and you are not suspended.
- Being one of them does not make you a founding operator by itself. We choose whom to offer a place, by where customers need more operators and the services you are cleared for, and we record why.
- When we offer you a place we tell you in the app and by email, with your founding number and the dates your founding months start and end. Founding numbers run from 1 to 250, and there will never be more.
What a place gives you
- 3 calendar months of free membership: you pay no membership fee, and you can go online and quote.
- Our fee on your quotes is 15% of your quote, and the fee includes the VAT on it, from your first job, for as long as our agreement lasts, even if our standard fee goes up. If our standard fee is ever lower, you pay the lower one.
- One kind of quote carries our standard fee instead: one you send as a member of an operator company whose payouts go to the company, because your founding place is yours and not the company's.
All prices include VAT: the membership you take out after the free months, and our fee, which includes the VAT on it. The quote screen shows our fee on every quote before you send it. The full offer is section 6.1 of the Operator Terms.
What it does not change
- Your customers' prices.
- How requests reach you, or how quotes are ranked: being a founding operator makes no difference to either.
- The help you get from us. Nobody can pay for a founding place, and it cannot be passed to anyone else.
When the free months end
- We remind you in the app and by email at least 14 days before they end, and again at least 3 days before, with the date and what, if anything, will be charged.
- To carry on going online and quoting you take out a membership, in the app or on the web, currently £29.99 a month, VAT included. Nothing is taken automatically, unless we moved the next payment of a membership you already pay for to that day.
- If you would rather not carry on, you need do nothing, and you can end our agreement at any time.
How a place ends
A founding place ends only if:
- our agreement ends;
- we suspend or remove you under section 15 of the Operator Terms, always with written reasons you can challenge;
- you ask us to end it; or
- we offered it by mistake and take it back within 14 days, before any customer has accepted a quote from you since.
Nothing else ends it, and if it does end we tell you in the app and by email, and why.

Does being a founding operator get me more jobs?
No. It changes what you pay, nothing else: requests and the order quotes are shown in are the same for every operator.
